Completely forgot: after adding a port, one has to

1) issue the command "portindex" in the directory "ports" to register the port
2) Run "sudo port sync" to synchronize local repository and local local repository

Yes, xml shouldn't contain errors, otherwise no tool can re-format the document.

Hi, plain great
but what about errors (e.g. not wellformed, or extra chars ...).
When they occur. The buffer is overwritten w/ the
errormessage and the original buffercontent is lost
Or do I miss something.

Cheers, Jan

I've noticed that after all the code changes it looks like:

<pre>
def reenc_next(cin, cout, i, s):
  try:
    ch  = chr(i)
    ch1 = cin(ch)[0]
    ch2 = cout(ch)[0]
    s = s.replace(ch1, ch2)
  except:
    pass
  return s

def reenc_string(from_enc, to_enc, s):
  from_dec = codecs.getdecoder(from_enc)
  to_dec   = codecs.getdecoder(to_enc)
  for i in xrange(256):
    s = reenc_next(from_dec, to_dec, i, s)
  return s

Well, you just need to remember that a CDROM 1X speed was 150KB/s, so, that means that CD quality audio takes less than that. That means that for a lan or wireless network this is little traffic.

That's good enough for me.

The definition of \normalfont is through \DeclareRobustCommand, which actually defines two commands: \normalfont and \normalfont~ (with a space at the end, I'll use the ~ in order to show it). And the definition of "\normalfont" is "\protect\normalfont~".

I don't know about \switchtomainfont, but I guess that definining it with \DeclareRobustCommand will avoid the ugly mess.

Thank you very much for this article which was exactly what I was searching for.
I once tried RsyncX (on Panther I guess) and didn't like it, because the GUI was kind of "notchy" and did not show me what was going on in the background.
Those reaching for perfectness might consider to compile a fresh 3.x version of rsync from the sources as recommended by http://www.bombich.com/mactips/rsync.html
